Validate an idea

Find evidence before adding complexity.

An idea begins with an assumption about a customer. Make that assumption explicit: who has the problem, what they do today and why they might change their behaviour.

Talk about real situations rather than asking whether people like the idea. Recent purchases, workarounds and frustrations reveal more than encouragement. Look for patterns without treating every comment as a requirement.

Choose a small test that can change your mind. A conversation, a simple offer or a limited pilot can be valuable when you define in advance what you need to learn.
